MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611053197 A) filed by Noida Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on April 27, for 'a microencapsulated probiotic delivery system for targeted gut release.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Sujeet Kumar Singh; and Ramish Maqsood.

The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A microencapsulated probiotic delivery system for targeted gut release comprises a probiotic cell core entrapped within a primary encapsulation matrix, a stabilizing interfacial layer, and a targeted release outer coating. The layered structure protects viable probiotic microorganisms during drying, storage, and gastric transit. A drying and conditioning module stabilizes the microcapsules before introduction into an administration medium. The system provides controlled intestinal release through pH-responsive or enzyme-responsive structural transformation, thereby improving survival and delivery efficiency relative to unencapsulated probiotic formulations."
