MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541084489 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, Hyderabad, Telangana, on Sept. 5, 2025, for 'a method of secure integrated sensing and communication using multiple input multiple output (mimo) radar system.'
Inventor(s) include Pechetti, Sasi Vinay.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method and a system provide a secure integrated sensing and communication using the MIMO system. A unique method and an integrated sensing and communication base station (ISAC) system is designed for generating a waveform suitable for both reliable radar target detection and secure communication simultaneously on the same bandwidth. According to an embodiment, a concept of index modulation for embedding information securely on a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) radar waveform is being utilized. According to an embodiment, a precoder is designed at the transmitter side of the MIMO radar such that only one out of multiple orthogonal waveforms are received at a legitimate communication user depending on what information bit sequence one wants to convey. Thereby providing a secure way of communication."
