MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411076613 A) filed by Ester Industries Limited, Udham singh Nagar, Uttarakhand, on Oct. 9, 2024, for 'a method of preparation of ultra clean crystal clear recycled polyethylene terephthalate and products thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Dillyraj, Balasundaram; Vyas, Chandrakant Omkar; Kumar, Gokal; and Joseph, F. Louis.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a method of preparation of ultra clean crystal clear recycle polyethylene terephthalate and products such as, yarn, bottle, or thermoforming sheets from the RPET. The recycle PET have improved quality close to virgin PET. The method of preparation of RPET have advantages such as separated finest dust and light plastics with increased efficiency of the optical sorting device and removal of low boiling impurities."
