MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521118811 A) filed by SVERI's College Of Engineering, Pandharpur, Maharashtra, on Nov. 28, 2025, for 'a method for veterinary parasitic diagnosis using foldscope microscopy.'
Inventor(s) include Mrs. Vanita Dnyandev Jadhav; Dr. Lalit Vasantrao Patil; Dr. Shekhar Vasantrao Bagal; and Dr. Swati Prasant Pawar.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a method for veterinary parasitic diagnosis using foldscope microscope (100) integrated with digital processing and artificial intelligence. The foldscope microscope (100) comprises a lens (110) providing magnification in the range of 50x to 400x, an external LED (light emitting diode) light source (112) for uniform illumination, and a sample slide holder (114) ensuring stable positioning of specimen slides. A processor (116) is configured to preprocess, and process microscopic images obtained from the foldscope (100), and a database (118) containing reference medical images and associated diagnostic data enables accurate disease detection. The system optionally integrates with a smartphone or tablet camera via a magnetic ring for portable and field-based diagnostic applications."
