MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421038006 A) filed by Citius Composites Private Limited, Pune, Maharashtra, on May 14, 2024, for 'a method for vacuum-assisted resin infusion.'

Inventor(s) include Aman Bansal.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method for vacuum-assisted resin infusion is disclosed, wherein a master pattern (102) is generated using CAD and CNC machining of a tooling substrate. A mold (402) is formed by successive lamination and curing of fiberglass-resin layers 5 over the master pattern. An offset pattern (502) is then prepared by laminating and curing fiberglass-resin layers over the mold. Resin runners (602), injection fittings (604), and sealing elements are embedded into the offset pattern to define resin flow paths and vacuum seals. Silicone rubber (RTV2) is applied onto the offset pattern and cured to form a flexible, reusable elastomeric membrane. The membrane is 10 demolded, trimmed, and inspected for dimensional accuracy and sealing integrity. It is mounted on the mold (402) and sealed using trapezium-profile elastomeric seals (702, 704), sponge cord, wax strips, and double-sided acrylic tape to create a vacuum-tight chamber. The seal is validated through leak testing, and resin is infused to fabricate the composite part (902)."
