MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641062155 A) filed by Maglife, Hyderabad, Telangana, on May 15, for 'a method for producing magnesium-enriched potable water.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method (100) for producing magnesium-enriched potable water is disclosed. The method includes obtaining purified water and adding at least one of magnesium chloride hexahydrate and magnesium sulphate heptahydrate to the purified water under agitation at a temperature of 15-25 C to obtain a total magnesium concentration of 25-45 mg/L. The method further includes adding one or more food-grade buffering agents to adjust the pH. The method includes adding one or more complementary minerals effective to reduce or mask bitterness associated with magnesium. Additionally, the method includes allowing the purified water to stabilize for 4-12 hours to achieve ionic equilibrium and sensory stability, thereby producing the magnesium-enriched potable water."
