MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421038529 A) filed by Jhunjhunwala, Sachin, Maharashtra, on May 16, 2024, for 'a method for producing elastic bands with recycled materials.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a method 200 of manufacturing woven based elastic band 124, said method 200 comprising the steps of attaching at least one yarn reel 102 to rear side of a weaving device 100, adjusting the attached yarn 114 based on desired pattern and width of the elastic band 124; attaching a warp system 120 to the weaving device such that threads 104 from the yarn reels 102 are brought up to mouth 110 of the weaving device 100. The method 200 further comprises parallelly passing threads 106 of an elastic material to bring up to mouth of the weaving device 100. The method 200 further comprises the step of attaching a weft system 118 to the weaving device 100 such that threads 114 in the weft are brought to the mouth 110, for binding the warp yarn threads 104 with the elastic threads 106 to produce elastic bands 124 with desired pattern 304."
