MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521100867 A) filed by Purwar, Shashank, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, on Oct. 17, for 'a method for preparing ready-to-use cell-free culture media for microbial growth.'

Inventor(s) include Purwar, Shashank.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention is related to a method for preparing ready-to-use cell-free culture media for microbial growth and antimicrobial susceptibility testing. The culture media is pre-formulated with dehydrated constituents and agar or other solidifying agents (as applicable), sealed in microwaveable containers, and pre-sterilized using low-heat or cold sterilization techniques such as ethylene oxide or radiation. The end user is only required to microwave the sealed media container for a specified duration. Upon cooling, the agar solidifies the agar containing media, making the media immediately ready for microbial inoculation. This method eliminates the need for autoclaves, laminar flow systems, weighing equipment, distilled water, pH meters, or trained personnel typically required for media preparation. The media has a long shelf life and can be stored at room temperature, making it cost-effective and suitable for use in resource-limited settings."
