MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411008807 A) filed by Dr. Ramratan; and Raul Fangueiro, Hanumangarh, Rajasthan, on Feb. 9, 2024, for 'a method for preparation of paper from cayratia trifolia linn. stem fiber and product thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Ramratan; and Raul Fangueiro.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Present invention discloses a method for production of paper using Cayratia Trifolia L., fibers and product thereof. The method consists simple steps including cleaning and oven drying the extracted fibers at 100oC for 12 hours, pre-treatment, pulping in rotary pulp digester using sodium hydroxide (NaOH), washing and drying the pulp, bleaching the pulp with hydrogen peroxide, beating bleached pulp in valley beater for 30-35minutes at room temperature, preparation of sheets with KCL type automated handsheet former and characterization of the same. The disclosed paper is of 70-90 GSM with 144 24 double fold number, 1.88cc/g bulk, 134 5 m thickness, 82.22% brightness, -0.26% yellowness and 87.29% whiteness."
