MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411009061 A) filed by Dr. Ramratan; and Raul Fangueiro, Hanumangarh, Rajasthan, on Feb. 10, 2024, for 'a method for preparation of nonwoven sheet from cayratia trifolia l. fibre and product thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Ramratan; and Raul Fangueiro.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Present invention discloses a non-woven sheet prepared using Cayratia trifolia L fibre and preparation method thereof. The management and harvesting of the Cayratia Trifolia Linn plant is easy and does not necessitate any additional efforts. The process of paper manufacture involves several straightforward phases, including extracting fibers from plants, washing the fibers, using the carding technique to make a web of fibers, and then needle punching to create nonwoven sheets. Further, the analysis of the physical characteristics, optical properties, and strength of nonwoven sheets. The prepared Nonwoven sheets from Cayratia Trifolia Linn fibre have superior performance in terms of absorbency, filterability, and permeability. The cross-sectional and longitudinal views of the cell wall resemble a hollow structure, similar to wool. It will be comparable to cotton fiber."
