MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517067064 A) filed by Basf Se, Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Germany, on July 14, for 'a method for improving the processing of polyethylene.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The preset invention relates to a method for increasing drawability and/or melt strength and/or melt elasticity of polyethylene comprising the step of mixing the polyethylene with a compound selected from polypropylene, at least one hydroxylamine ester of the formula (I), or a combination thereof. The present invention further relates to a polyethylene composition comprising polyethylene, and a compound selected from polypropylene, hydroxylamine esters of the formula (I), (IA), (IA'), (IA''), (IA'''), or mixtures of two or more thereof, or combination thereof. The present invention also relates to the use of polypropylene and/or hydroxylamine esters of the formula (I), (IA), (IA'), (IA''), (IA'''), or mixtures of two or more thereof for increasing the drawability and/or melt strength and/or melt elasticity of polyethylene."
