MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521134050 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on Dec. 31, 2025, for 'a method for grading cement-treated soil sample.'

Inventor(s) include Choudhary, Sourabh; and Borana, Lalit.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is a method (100) for grading cement-treated soil sample. The method (100) comprises integrating a Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG)-based transducer device (210) within the soil sample; monitoring, simultaneously, a mechanical shrinkage and a thermal strain associated with curing of the soil sample using the integrated FBG-based transducer device (210); recording, via a high-resolution interrogator, wavelength shifts in the reflection from the integrated FBG-based transducer device (210) during the curing of the soil sample; and grading the cured cement-treated soil sample based on an analysis of the recorded wavelength shifts by correlating at least one of the monitored shrinkages and the monitored thermal strain with time elapsed during the curing of the soil sample."
