MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511123866 A) filed by Noida Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Dec. 9, 2025, for 'a method for formulation and evaluation of rutin-loaded microspheres for treating pcos.'

Inventor(s) include Dr Rupa Mazumder; Dr Anjna Rani; Monalisa Roy; Sonia Chauhan; Dr Monika; and Pakhi Chakraborthy.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein is a method for formulation and evaluation of rutin-loaded microspheres for treating PCOS (100) comprises performing pre-formulation tests (102) of rutin. The method also includes preparing a calibration curve of rutin for quantitative analysis (104). The method also includes formulating rutin-loaded sustained release microspheres (106). The method also includes optimizing the formulation of microspheres (108) by varying independent factors. The method also includes characterizing the microspheres (110). The method also includes performing in vitro dissolution tests of the microspheres (112) under simulated gastric conditions and analyzing drug release behavior. The method also includes conducting in vivo evaluation of the microspheres (114) to assess therapeutic efficacy by determining metabolic, hormonal, and histopathological changes in comparison with a standard treatment."
