Inventor(s) include Dr Monika; Mr Shubham Pal; Dr Rupa Mazumder; Mrs Bhavani Pentela; and Dr Avijit Mazumder.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein is a method for formulation and evaluation of dexamethasone ocular film for dry eye (100) comprises conducting preformulation tests of dexamethasone (102). The method also includes dissolving a predetermined amount of dexamethasone in a suitable solvent (104). The method also includes preparing a polymeric solution (106). The method also includes incorporating a plasticizer comprising glycerine into polymeric solution (108). The method also includes mixing the drug solution with the polymeric solution under stirring (110). The method also includes casting the mixture onto a flat surface (112). The method also includes drying the cast film at ambient temperature (114). The method also includes optimizing the formulation parameters (116) by varying polymer-to-plasticizer ratios and evaluating dependent variables. The method also includes evaluating the prepared ocular film (118)."
