MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511123856 A) filed by Noida Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Dec. 9, 2025, for 'a method for evaluation of anticonvulsant activity of novel pyridyl thiadiazole.'
Inventor(s) include Dr Rakhi Mishra; Dr Rupa Mazumder; Rishi Kurup; Dr Anjna Ranai; Dr Salahuddin; and Shruti Varshney.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein is a method for synthesis, characterization, and evaluation of anticonvulsant activity of novel pyridyl thiadiazole (100) comprises selecting chemicals and solvents (102) of laboratory reagent (LR) grade. The method also includes preparing one or more pyridyl thiadiazole derivatives (104). The method also includes characterizing the synthesized compounds (106) using melting point determination. The method also includes conducting in silico molecular docking tests (108). The method also includes performing ADME profiling (110) to evaluate lipophilicity, and predicted pharmacokinetic parameters. The method also includes evaluating acute toxicity of the synthesized derivatives (112) in laboratory animals. The method also includes assessing anticonvulsant activity (114) of the synthesized derivatives. The method also includes recording and interpreting pharmacological data (116), including seizure onset, duration, severity, neurotoxicity, and correlation with in silico binding results."
