MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311084850 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Delhi; and Institute Of Liver And Biliary Sciences, New Delhi, on Dec. 12, 2023, for 'a method for detection, classification of bacteria and implementations thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Singh, Neetu; Kaur, Savneet; Kaur, Manleen; Tripathi, Dinesh M; and Tiwari, Rajnish.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a method of detecting bacteria in a sample, and further classifying the bacteria if present in the sample as Gram-positive or Gram negative using an electrochemical sensing platform. The present disclosure also provides a method of detecting bacterial sepsis and further, a method of detecting the antimicrobial susceptibility status of bacteria using said electrochemical sensing platform."
