MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441011607 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on Feb. 20, 2024, for 'a method and extended reality apparatus for pose estimation.'

Inventor(s) include Rajas Jayant Joshi; Sarthak Sengupta; Rajat Kumar Jain; Sujoy Saha; and Tarun Vijayanand Bagewadi.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 5, under issue no. 36/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Embodiments disclosed herein provide a method for pose estimation by XR apparatus (1300) comprising receiving at least one first frame received from at least one Camera (1301) by the XR apparatus (1300). Further, the method determines a first set of key points in the at least one first frame. Thereafter, the method receiving at least one second frame received from at least one Camera (1301) and movements of each key point of the first set of key points of the at least one first frame in the at least one second frame. Further, the method determines a second set of key points in the at least one second frame based on the tracked movements of each key point of the first set of key points in the at least one second frame."
