According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a bagasse-ash dishwashing powder and a method for manufacturing the same using waste bagasse ash generated in sugar-industry operations and/or discarded ash from daily ritual use. The composition employs bagasse ash as a principal mineral cleaning base and is blended with plant-derived functional additives to provide an eco-friendly alternative to chemical dishwashing detergents. In one embodiment, the powder comprises 60-90 wt.% bagasse ash, 2-12 wt.% neem leaf powder, 1-10 wt.% tamarind-derived solids, and 0.5-6 wt.% natural adhesive, optionally with 0-20 wt.% builders such as soda ash or sodium metasilicate. The method includes collecting, drying, chilled processing, blending with soaked emulsifiers and additives, final drying, and packaging. The alkaline mineral nature of bagasse ash enables grease cutting and removal of food residues with reduced environmental impact, supports waste recycling, and promotes sustainable livelihood generation."
