MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311087080 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on Dec. 20, 2023, for 'a method and a system for optimal image projection on irregular projection surfaces.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method (600) for projecting an image on an irregular surface is disclosed. Further, the method (600) includes determining a difference between the geometrical image (108B) and the projected image (108A). Furthermore, the method includes determining at least one Region of Interest (RoI) in the irregular surface based on the determined difference between the geometrical image (108B) and the projected image (108A). Furthermore, the method includes generating a distortion map based on the determined difference between the geometrical image (108B) and the projected image (108A). Furthermore, the method (600) includes determining irregularities in the at least one determined RoI in the irregular surface based on the generated distortion map. The method (600) includes determining an optimal projecting angle and an optimal viewing angle of the projected image (108A)."
