MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611025858 A) filed by Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 5, for 'a method and a system for artificial intelligence enabled adaptive stateful router firewall with dynamic policy orchestration.'

Inventor(s) include Reena Singh; Ujjwal Mishra; and Sunny Gaur.

The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to an Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled adaptive stateful router firewall system with dynamic policy orchestration for enhancing network security. The system comprises a router device including a traffic monitoring module configured to capture multi-layer network traffic data, a machine learning-based behavioral analytics unit configured to extract traffic features and classify network behavior, and a dynamic policy orchestration unit configured to autonomously enforce firewall policies. The AI module computes anomaly severity scores by comparing real-time traffic characteristics against learned behavioral baselines and differentiates legitimate operational surges from malicious activities including distributed denial-of-service attacks, port scanning, lateral movement, and data exfiltration. Based on severity classification, the system dynamically generates, updates, or revokes stateful firewall rules without manual intervention. The system further supports federated learning-based model refinement and secure transmission of annotated traffic intelligence reports, thereby enabling predictive threat mitigation, reduced false positives, and improved autonomous network defense within routing infrastructures."
