MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541125290 A) filed by B V Raju Institute Of Technology, Narsapur, Telangana, on Dec. 11, 2025, for 'a machine learning-powered eeg signal processing method for early depression diagnosis.'
Inventor(s) include Mrs Gandam Vindya; Mrs. K. Durga Devi; Mrs. Dyagala Naga Sudha; Mrs. N. Pragjna; and Mrs. Pandala Navitha.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention proposes a machine-learning-powered method for early diagnosis of depression using EEG signals. The system includes acquisition of EEG data, preprocessing with band-pass filtering, Independent Component Analysis, and wavelet-based denoising. Multi-domain features including spectral, statistical, and entropy-based measures are extracted and classified using a machine learning model such as SVM, CNN, or hybrid networks. The system outputs a Depression Risk Score to assist clinicians in early and objective depression diagnosis."
