MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421008391 A) filed by Hyundai Mobis Co. Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Feb. 7, 2024, for 'a lubricant retention and recirculation device for a vehicle steering system.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure envisages a lubricant retention and recirculation device (200). The device (200) comprises a first half bush (203) and a second half bush (240) that are attached to each other. Both half bushes (203, 240) have a hollow body defined by a wall (204, 244) from which a rib (207, 245) extends. A groove (208, 248) is configured on the rib (207, 245). A lip (210, 250) is configured on the wall (204, 244) to provide a flow path for the lubricant. A recess (209, 249) is configured on the wall (204, 244). Oil seals (201, 202) are nested in the grooves (208, 248). An O-ring (260) is nested in the recess (209, 249). The device (200) is located on an upper worm shaft bearing (103) of a worm shaft (7) connected to a motor to arrest the lubricant flow to the motor (8), and recirculate the lubricant to the worm wheel (5)."
