MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311080359 A) filed by Schaeffler Technologies Ag & Co. Kg, Herzogenaurach, Germany, on Nov. 27, 2023, for 'a locking system for a transmission assembly.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a locking system (100) for a transmission assembly (200) of a vehicle. The locking system (100) may include a lock ring (102), a pawl (104), an actuation mechanism (106), and a control unit (110) in communication with the actuation mechanism (106). The lock ring (102) may be mounted on an input shaft (202) of the transmission assembly (200) and have a plurality of teeth (102-2, 102-4) formed on a periphery of the lock ring (102). The pawl (104) may be adapted to selectively engage with the lock ring (102) between two consecutive teeth (102-2, 102-4) from among the plurality of teeth (102-2, 102-4) to inhibit a rotation of the lock ring (102). The actuation mechanism (106) includes a ramp bush (108) that slides linearly to push the pawl (104) to engage between the two consecutive teeth (102-2, 102-4)."
