According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A load carrying exterior panel (100) for a vehicle is disclosed. The load carrying exterior panel (100) comprises a singular unitary component (102) configured to be assembled with surrounding vehicle structures, a first outer surface (104) to receive external forces and prevent surface undulations affecting aesthetic appearance, a second inner surface (106) to reduce rattling and vibrational noise during vehicle operation, a plurality of intermediate ribs (108) to provide structural stability, impact resistance, and prevention of surface deformation, at least one first mounting flange (110) configured for mounting the load carrying exterior panel (100) to a waist rail of the vehicle, at least one second mounting flange (112) configured for mounting the load carrying exterior panel (100) to a window rail of the vehicle, a plurality of longitudinal structural members (114) to provide structural stiffness and to transmit load paths between longitudinal members and vertical pillars of a vehicle structure."
