MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411076210 A) filed by Amber Enterprises India Limited, Rajpura, Punjab, on Oct. 8, 2024, for 'a light weight cross flow fan.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a light weight Cross-Flow Fan (CFF) (100). The CFF (100) comprises of a plurality of blade wheels (102) adapted to fixedly accommodate a plurality of blades (104) at an outer periphery thereof in a circumferential centred on a predefined axis. The plurality of blade wheels (102) are fixedly attached to one another in a side-by-side manner to form a roll-like cylindrical structure. The plurality of blades (102) have a curved profile with a leading edge (108) and a trailing edge (106). Further, the plurality of blades (104) of each blade wheel (102) are correspondingly aligned with the plurality of blades (102) of the adjacent blade wheel so as to collectively form an enlarged cylindrical cross-flow fan. Furthermore, the thickness of plurality of blades (102) varies from the trailing edge (106) to the leading edge (108)."
