MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411029771 A) filed by Havells India Limited, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on April 12, 2024, for 'a latching mechanism for an actuator assembly of a molded case circuit breaker (mccb).'
Inventor(s) include Amrit Singh; Sandeep Dalmia; Umashankar Shanmugaraj; and Ankur Goyal.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Described herein is latching mechanism [200] for actuator assembly [112] of MCCB [100]. Actuator assembly [112] comprising pair of side frame members [124], operating mechanism, and trip bar [122]. Latching mechanism [200] comprising latch-cum-reset [202] link rotatably installed on trip arm member [120] of operating mechanism, and latch bracket [204] pivotally installed between pair of side frame members [124]. Upon manipulation of actuating lever [126] of actuator assembly [112] from TRIP position to RESET position, latch-cum-reset link [202] engages with and latches onto latch bracket [204], for locking trip arm member [120] in fixed position, to allow manipulation of MCCB [100] amongst ON, OFF, and RESET position thereof. While, upon manipulation of trip bar [122] via at least one tripping accessory, latch-cum-reset link [202] rollingly disengages from latch bracket [204], for unlocking trip arm member [122] to released position, to thereby cause manipulation of MCCB [100] to TRIP position thereof."
