MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531004911 A) filed by Government College Of Engineering And Textile Technology; and National Jute Board, Serampore, West Bengal, on Jan. 21, for 'a jute fibre-glass reinforced articles.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Mallika Datta; Prof. Sudipta Sekhar Mahish; and Mr. Devarun Nath.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A jute fibre -glass reinforced articles comprising a synergistically co-acting combination of (i) a jute-glass hybrid reinforced composite core comprising of 10%-12% (wt%) of jute yarns and 68%-75% (wt%) glass filament and a (ii) 15%-20% (wt%) woven Jute fabric mat surface covering thereon said jute-glass hybrid reinforced composite core as impact and friction wear resistant cushioning based jute-glass reinforced pultruded hybrid products. Said composite has synergistically enhanced Tensile strength (length wise ) MPa in the range of 200 MPa to 250 MPa; Flexural Strength (Cross-wise) MPa in the range of 325 MPa to 350 MPa."
