MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311084392 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 11, 2023, for 'a hvac system for vehicles.'

Inventor(s) include Amit Katba.

The application for the patent was published on June 20, under issue no. 25/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A HVAC system (100) for a vehicle includes a heat exchanger (102) positioned between a compressor (104) and at least one condenser (106) of a refrigerant circuit of the HVAC system. The heat exchanger (102) receives a coolant from prime mover (110) of the vehicle and transfers heat from coolant to a refrigerant. The heat transferred to the refrigerant from the coolant results in lower load on the compressor (104). A set of temperature sensors (114, 116, 118) monitor temperature of the coolant and the refrigerant, and a control unit (122) operates a three-way valve (120) to control flow of the coolant to the heat exchanger (102) based on ambient temperature, temperature of the coolant, temperature of the refrigerant at heat exchanger outlet and compressor outlet."
