MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411030668 A) filed by Shoolini University Of Biotechnology And Management Sciences, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, on April 17, 2024, for 'a heterojunction photocatalyst for degradation of 2,4-dimethylphenol.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention introduces an AgCl/PCN/Fe3O4 heterojunction photocatalyst in wastewater treatment, offering rapid and efficient degradation of pollutants like 2,4-dimethylphenol (DMP). Furthermore, the photocatalyst 10 exhibits a degradation efficiency ranging from 90% to 99% within just 60 minutes, and presents a promising solution for environmental remediation. Moreover, the PCN photocatalyst displayed sheet-like 2D morphological structure, whereas AgCl and Fe3O4 exhibited the shape of nanoparticles. In overall, the AgCl/PCN/Fe3O4 photocatalyst stands as an innovative and promising 15 advancement in sustainable environmental remediation technologies."
