MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611009516 A) filed by Swami Vivekananda Subharti University, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on Jan. 30, for 'a herbal topical formulation and a method for eyelash and eyebrow densification using castor oil and cassia fistula extract.'

Inventor(s) include Ms. Parkhi Rastogi; and Ms. Dimple Singh Tomar.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a novel, synergistic, and standardized herbal topical formulation specifically designed for densification, strengthening, and natural enhancement of eyelashes and eyebrows. The formulation comprises castor oil as a follicle-stimulating base, standardized Cassia fistula extract rich in phenolics and flavonoids as the primary growth-promoting active, aloe polysaccharide fraction for hydration and improved adhesion, vitamin E for antioxidant stabilization, and natural preservatives for microbial safety. The Cassia extract is incorporated into the castor oil matrix through controlled heating, homogenization, and optional vacuum-assisted activation to form a stable micro-dispersion that enhances follicular penetration and enables sustained release of bioactives. The standardized preparation ensures batch-to-batch consistency, improved stability, and superior performance compared to conventional herbal oils. When applied regularly, the formulation promotes increased hair density, thickness, and anchoring strength of eyelashes and eyebrows, offering a safe, non-irritating, and chemical-free alternative to synthetic lash and brow enhancers."
