MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611001550 A) filed by Icfre - Eco-Rehabilitation Centre, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on Jan. 7, for 'a herbal shampoo composition, free from sulphates and parabens, suitable for use on all hair types.'
Inventor(s) include Anita Tomar; Anubha Srivastav; Satyavrat Singh; and Sanjay Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a herbal shampoo composition, free from sulphates and parabens, suitable for use on all hair types, comprising: i) an extract of Pithecellobium dulce in the range of 1% to 5% w/v comprising fatty oils exhibiting antimicrobial and antioxidant properties; ii) an extract of Vitex negundo in the range of 0.5% to 3% v/v comprising essential oils exhibiting anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and analgesic properties; iii) one or more natural surfactants in the range of 1:1 to 1:2 selected from the group consisting of soapnut extract, decyl glucoside, coco-glucoside, or lauryl glucoside; iv) one or more natural conditioning agents selected from aloe vera, guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, or panthenol; v) one or more preservatives selected from potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate, or phenoxyethanol; and vi) one or more pH adjusters selected from citric acid or sodium citrate; wherein the composition is formulated to maintain scalp pH, reduce hair fall, and improve hair texture."
