MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517096775 A) filed by Green Gravity Energy Pty Ltd., North Wollongong, Australia, on Oct. 8, for 'a gravitational battery system and components therefor.'
Inventor(s) include Swinnerton, Mark Leslie; Soto, Francisco; and Nugent, Shaun.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "In a first aspect, the present invention relates to a gravitational battery system comprising a substantially vertical shaft having an upper and lower location, a vertical transport means connected to a motor-generator, a gripper assembly mechanically connected to the vertical transport means and arranged to be raised and lowered along the shaft, and at least one weighted object. Also provided in a further aspect is a gripper assembly to grip and suspend a weighted object, comprising a gripper body, at least two gripper arms actuatable in a gripping and an opening direction, an engaging portion on a second end of each of the at least two gripper arms, and a secondary frame connected to each of the at least two gripper arms."
