MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411011036 A) filed by Hero Motocorp Limited, New Delhi, on Feb. 16, 2024, for 'a gear shifting device of a vehicle.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A gear shifting device (100) is disclosed. The device (100) includes a bracket (1) connectable to a body frame of the vehicle, and a lever (4) operable in a swingable manner by the rider, for shifting of gears. The device (100) further includes an adjustable arm (8) connected to the lever (4). A gear shift spindle (10) is connected to the adjustable arm (8) via a shift component (11). The adjustable arm (8) includes a pair of eyelets (15, 16) coupled together by a connecting rod (17). An eye (15a, 16a) portion of each of the pair of the eyelets (15, 16) include a spherical bearing (24). Provisioning the adjustable arm (8) and the shift component (11), in the device (100), prevents sticking, reduces and/or substantially eliminates play or chatter, whereby preventing increasing the magnitude of swing length of the lever (4), during gear shifting operation."
