MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641019007 A) filed by Aditya Institute Of Technology And Management, Tekkali, Andhra Pradesh, on Feb. 19, for 'a fuzzy logic-based system and method for estimating vulnerability level to infectious agents using exposure-based parameters.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. G. Vasanti; Dr. M. V. Ratnamani; Smt. K. Lakshmi; Dr. S. K. Prasanna Lakshmi; Ms. R. Ramya; Smt. B. Divya; and Ms. G. Sruthi.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a fuzzy logic-based system and method for estimating vulnerability level to infectious agents using exposure-based parameters. The system employs a Mamdani-type Fuzzy Inference System to process uncertain behavioral data such as public exposure, transportation mode, working duration, and social interactions. Linguistic variables and membership functions are used to represent qualitative exposure levels, and a fuzzy rule base evaluates combinations of inputs to determine vulnerability. Mamdani inference and centroid defuzzification generate a crisp vulnerability score. The proposed system enables proactive assessment of individual vulnerability prior to infection, supporting preventive decision-making during epidemics and pandemics. The invention is adaptable to various infectious agents and provides an interpretable decision-support tool for healthcare analytics and risk management."
