MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421035893 A) filed by The Automotive Research Association Of India, Pune, Maharashtra, on May 6, 2024, for 'a fumigation system for a compression ignition (ci) engine and method thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a fumigation system (100) for a compression ignition (CI) engine (102) and method (300) comprising a CI engine (102), a second fuel tank (104) for storing and supplying a pre-mixed alcohol based fuel (132) to a fumigation injector (130) through at least one secondary fuel line (114). The fumigation injector (130) is located on the air intake manifold (116) of the CI engine (102) before an inlet valve (124) to spray the pre-mixed alcohol based high octane fuel (132) into an inlet air."
