MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421068393 A) filed by Mahindra Electric Automobile Limited, Maharashtra, on Sept. 10, 2024, for 'a front structure of a vehicle.'

Inventor(s) include Rajasekar Ramaraj; R Prakash; V Vikraman; Prasad Namani; Dharun Nivesh; and Sambamurthy Sivasubramanian.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The disclosure herein generally relates to a vehicle structure, and more particularly, to a front structure of the vehicle. The front structure (100) of the vehicle includes a pair of front rails (101L, 101R) spaced apart in a widthwise direction of said vehicle. The pair of front rails (101L,101R) extend in a lengthwise direction with respect to a dash panel (150) of said vehicle. The pair of front rails (101L,101R) comprise a left-hand front rail(101L) and a right-hand front rail(101R). Each of said left-hand front rail (101L) and said right-hand front rail(101R) is placed in an offset longitudinal axis (L'). The front structure improves the frunk volume and the packaging space for packaging various components of the vehicle. Further, the front structure improves the turning circle diameter thereby enhancing the maneuverability of the vehicle."
