MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641013572 A) filed by Estro Global Solutions Pvt. Ltd.; and Rajiv Gandhi University Of Knowledge Technologies, Bengaluru, Karnataka, on Feb. 7, for 'a front facing camera with winding and unwinding mechanism in the side mirror of the vehicle.'
Inventor(s) include Madhu Dantala; Prasad Bandi; Lakshman Suriya Kumar Patchala; Tulasi Surya Alaka; and Sada Siva Surya Prakash Thota.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A front faced camera unit housed within the side mirror, wherein the camera unit is equipped with winding and unwinding mechanism. The winding and unwinding mechanism is performed by a holding arm, wherein the camera unit is fixated at one end of such holding arm. The holding arm unwinds such that the camera unit is unfolded to outside of the frame of the side mirror and winds back such that the camera unit is folded towards the frame the side mirror. The camera unit is activated by the user of the vehicle to acquire clear live video streaming data of the road conditions on the right- front side or left-front side of the present vehicle such that the user can overtake the vehicle that is in front of the present driving vehicle."
