MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611027005 A) filed by Fiberise Fit Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi, on March 7, for 'a fortified yeast-derived protein composition for enhancing muscle protein synthesis and method for preparation thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Diwakar Vaish; and Sakshi Dhall.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses The present invention relates to a nutritional protein composition derived from fermentation-based yeast protein and fortified with selected amino acids for enhancing muscle protein synthesis. The composition comprises yeast-derived protein in an amount ranging from 60% to 95% of the total composition, supplemented with L-leucine (1.5-4 g), L-isoleucine (0.5-2 g), L-valine (0.5-2 g), L-methionine (200-800 mg), L-cysteine or N-acetyl cysteine (100-600 mg), L-lysine (100-800 mg), and L-threonine (100-500 mg) per serving. The fortified amino acid profile corrects limiting amino acids present in yeast protein and enhances anabolic signaling through activation of the mTOR pathway, thereby promoting muscle protein synthesis and recovery. The invention further provides a method of preparing the fortified composition involving fermentation-derived yeast protein extraction, amino acid blending, homogenization, and drying. The composition provides a scalable, fermentation-derived, dairy-free protein alternative suitable for sports nutrition, clinical nutrition, and functional food formulations."
