MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411072845 A) filed by Indian Council Of Agricultural Research, New Delhi, on Sept. 26, 2024, for 'a formulation for broiler growth and method of preparation thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Divya; Dr. Chandra Deo; Dr. A. K. Tiwari; Dr. Abhishek Biswas; Dr. Jaydip J Rokade; Dr. Sandeep Saran; and Dr. Hissalo.

The application for the patent was published on April 10, under issue no. 15/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a formulation for enhancing the growth of broilers and its method of preparation thereof. The formulation comprises of biomass in the range of 57-59% w/w; pomegranate peel powder in the range of 26-28% w/w; molasses in the range of 7-9% w/w; egg shell powder in the range of 2-3% w/w; DCP in the range of 0.66-2.66% w/w; gum acacia in the range of 0.73-0.93% w/w; mineral mixture in the range of 0.10-0.30% w/w and vitamin mixture in the range of 0.10-0.30% w/w. The agro-waste-based formulation added to broiler chicken diets is an effective growth promoter and can act as an alternative to antibiotic growth promoters. It improves growth performance, enhances immune response, supports gut health, and reduces stress in broiler chickens."
