MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641006708 A) filed by Nitte, Mangaluru, Karnataka, on Jan. 23, for 'a formulation for apremilast delivery and method of preparation thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Marina Koland; Ms. Ananya; Dr. Sindhoor S M; and Dr. Ashwini Prabhu.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein is a formulation (100) for Apremilast delivery. The formulation (100) comprises a non-covalent complex (102) adapted to present an active pharmaceutical ingredient in a skin-penetrating and topically bioavailable form and a topical composition (104) adapted to incorporate and stabilize the non-covalent complex (102), and improve the spreadability of the formulation (100) for topical application. The non-covalent complex (102) comprises a predefined quantity of Apremilast (112) functioning as the active pharmaceutical ingredient of the formulation (100). The non-covalent complex (102) also comprises a predefined quantity of a phospholipid (114) configured to enhance topical retention and dermal penetration of Apermilast (112)."
