MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511104941 A) filed by National Institute Of Technology, Kurukshetra, Haryana, on Oct. 30, 2025, for 'a footrest assembly for a vehicle.'

The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a footrest assembly (100) for a vehicle (200). The footrest assembly (100) may include a first disc (102), a second disc (104), a footrest (106), a locking member (110), and an actuating member (114). The second disc (104) may be adapted to be rotated relative to the first disc (102). The footrest (106) may be pivotally coupled to the second disc (104). The locking member (110) may be adapted to engage with at least one of the first disc (102) and the second disc (104). Further, the actuating member (114) may be adapted to be operated for extending the footrest (106) out of the frame (103). Herein, the actuating member (114), when operated, may disengage the locking member (110) from the first disc (102) and the second disc (104), allowing the rotation of the second disc (104)."
