MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421016284 A) filed by Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited, Maharashtra, on March 7, 2024, for 'a flush glass assembly for a vehicle.'

Inventor(s) include Mallikarjun Kori; Ashok Chowdhury; Shaaz Akhter; Amod Ranade; and Ketan Mahamuni.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Present disclosure discloses a flush glass assembly (200) for a vehicle (100). The assembly (200) comprises a glass pane (10), an applique (11), and a door inner panel (1). Further, the assembly comprises a reinforcement panel (4) disposed between the door inner panel, the glass 5 pane and the applique. Furthermore, the assembly includes a glass run mold (GRM) (7) having second protrusion (23) and a channel (25) configured to receive the GRM. The channel disposed between the reinforcement panel and GRM. The channel is defined with at least one hook portion (26) interlocked with the corresponding second protrusion (23). Moreover, the assembly includes a guide member (30), a first end (31) of the guide member is connected to 10 the glass pane and a second end (32) of the guide member is receivable by a second end (9) of the GRM. The assembly (200) of the present disclosure reduces air resistance."
