MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441076361 A) filed by Avt Natural Products Ltd., Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Oct. 8, 2024, for 'a flavonoid composition and implementations thereof.'

Inventor(s) include S, Vinay Kumar VVCH; Chandran Nair, Arunkumar Thudanal; Subrahmanya, Abhijith Kunhitlu; and Ravichandran, Sripathy.

The application for the patent was published on April 10, under issue no. 15/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a flavonoid composition comprising one or more polyphenolic compounds selected from a defined group including quercetin, rutin, 5 luteolin, and others, combined with a non-ionic surfactant acting as a solubilizer. The composition enhances solubility and bioavailability of the flavonoids, with the surfactant-to-flavonoid ratio ranging from 1:20 to 20:1. The invention further includes a nutraceutical formulation containing this composition, a method for its preparation involving mixing, optional polymer and polysaccharide addition, and 10 stirring, as well as its use in therapeutic applications for subjects in need thereof."
