MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641044340 A) filed by Saveetha Institute Of Medical And Technical Sciences, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on April 7, for 'a finger ring inhaler for menstrual cramp relief.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Thiruppathi Arjunan; Dr. Linga Pavithra S; and Dr. Deepak Nallaswamy Veeraiyan.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a wearable inhalation device for providing relief from menstrual cramps. The invention discloses a finger-ring inhaler comprising a ring body adapted to be worn on a finger, the ring body having an internal chamber configured to house an absorbent medium infused with therapeutic substances. The absorbent medium releases vapours through one or more airtlow openings provided in the ring body. The user inhales the vapours by bringing the finger-ring inhaler near the nostrils thereby obtaining relief from menstrual cramps. The device is portable, non-invasive, reusable and allows discreet use during daily activities. The invention provides a convenient alternative to conventional pain relief methods without the need tor oral medication."
