MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611051765 A) filed by Jaypee Institute Of Information Technology, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on April 23, for 'a fermentation process for enhanced production of indole-3-acetic acid.'

Inventor(s) include Sohail Khan; and Dr. Ashwani Mathur.

The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a fermentation process for the enhanced production of IAA comprising the steps of cultivating an IAA-producing bacterium BC-SKAM2 under submerged fermentation conditions in a culture medium supplemented with banana peel powder which acts as a precursor source for microbial conversion to indole-3-acetic acid, thereby increasing IAA yield by 25-fold relative to fermentation without the said substrate."
