The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A double decker vehicle/bus (100) comprising a lower deck (101) and an upper deck (102). The lower deck (101) includes a roof (103), a plurality of stanchions (104), a plurality of pneumatic actuators (driving units) (105) mounted to the plurality of stanchions (104), and a primary headroom (106). The primary headroom (106) is movable in a vertical direction between an open condition and a closed condition. The upper deck (102) includes a roof (107), a plurality of stanchions (104), a plurality of pneumatic actuators (105) mounted to the plurality of the stanchions (104), and a secondary headroom (108). The secondary headroom (108) is movable in a vertical direction between an open condition and a closed condition. During boarding of occupants in the lower deck (101), said primary headroom (106) is operated to the open condition by the plurality of the driving units (105) when said secondary headroom (108) of the upper deck (102) is in closed condition. During boarding of occupants in the upper deck (102), said secondary headroom (108) is operated to the open condition by the plurality of the driving units (105) when said primary headroom (106) of the lower deck (101) is in closed condition. The present invention provides an advantage of designing a double decker bus (100) with height having less than four meters (4m), reducing the rolling stability and thus a center of gravity."
