According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A dose counter system for metered dispensing of a medication [0071] The present invention discloses a dose counter system (100) comprising an actuator (101), a counter base (102), a first gear wheel (103), and a second gear wheel (104), wherein the counter base (102) includes a cantilever flap (113) to provide spring effect to an actuation lever (110), and anti-reverse pawls (111A, 111B) to prevent backward rotation of the gear wheels. The first gear wheel (103) includes a ratchet (123), a transfer tooth (122), and front face displaying numerals 0-9. The second gear wheel (104) includes gear teeth (128), a ratchet (127), a second rib (129), and front face displaying numerals 00-20. The linear depression of a canister (106) deflects the cantilever flap (113), driving rotation of first gear wheel (103), periodically advancing second gear wheel (104) to decrement and display the remaining dose through a display window (132)."
