MUMBAI, India, June 16 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611055152 A) filed by Daimler Truck Ag, Leinfelden-Echterdin, Germany, on April 30, for 'a door assembly for a vehicle.'
Inventor(s) include Rajesh R; Saquib MD; and Jahan A.
The application for the patent was published on June 5, under issue no. 23/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A door assembly (100) includes a door panel (102) coupled to vertical and lower horizontal sides (104a, 104b) of a door opening (104) in a body (101) of a vehicle via vertical hinges (106) and horizontal hinges (108) respectively. The vertical and horizontal hinges (106, 108) work in either a functional mode or a non-functional mode. An actuator mechanism (110) is coupled to the vertical and horizontal hinges (106, 108) and movable between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the horizontal hinges (108) work in the non-functional mode, while the vertical hinges (106) work in a functional mode, enabling the door panel (102) to open about the vertical side (104a) of the door opening (104). In the second position, the horizontal hinges (108) work in the functional mode, allowing the door panel (102) to open about the lower horizontal side (104b) as an exit ramp."
