MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411075299 A) filed by ONGC, New Delhi, on Oct. 4, 2024, for 'a device to increase the flow of gases and liquids.'
Inventor(s) include Ranjit Gogoi; and Deepak Gunwant.
The application for the patent was published on April 10, under issue no. 15/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The device (206) Multiple Converging Gas Lift Ports (MCGLP) used in conjunction with Gas Lift Valve to increase the flow of velocity of injection gases in the device (100), the device (100) comprising a formation (114), the formation is the reservoir from where a formation fluid (122) is extracted; a flow line (102), the flow line is the pathway through which formation fluid passes; a well head (104), the wall head is the upper part of an oil well, where all flow lines (102) are fitted; an annulus (120), the annulus space between the casing (108) and the tubing (106); a packer (118), the packer isolates the annulus space from the formation fluid (122); and a plurality of mandrels with GLVs (110). The GLVs comprises of a Gas Lift Valve (202) with reverse flow check valve (204) and a plurality of multiple converging gas lift port (MCGLPs) (206)."
