MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641018366 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Feb. 18, for 'a device for tracking real-time location of a user.'

A microcontroller (108) mounted on the flexible printed circuit board coordinates device operations including location tracking, data transmission, display operation, power management, and emergency alert generation. A GPS tracking module (110) receives location data from global navigation satellite systems and is electrically connected to the microcontroller (108). An embedded SIM (eSIM) module (112) enables cellular data transmission without a physical SIM card. A rechargeable battery (114) supplies power through a power management circuit. A display (116) presents device status information, and a user-actuated control interface (118) enables user interaction and emergency alert activation. The device provides discreet, continuous tracking and emergency alerting while maintaining a card-like form factor suitable for daily use."
